Welcome to DropTaxi Services. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website droptaxi.services (“Website”) and the ride-booking services offered through it (“Service”). By using the Website or the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
User / Passenger / You: The person using the Website or Service to book rides.
Driver / Service Provider: Independent drivers or taxi operators who provide rides.
Booking: A request made via the Website for a ride.
Fare: The amount you pay for a ride, as calculated by the website or the driver.
Cancellation Fee: A charge if you cancel a booking under certain conditions.
Account: Your user account on DropTaxi Services (if applicable).
2. Nature of the Service
DropTaxi acts as a platform / intermediary connecting users to independent drivers. We do not own vehicles. This is similar to other taxi-service platforms.
The contract for the ride is between you and the driver / service provider; we do not become a party to that contract.
Availability of drivers depends on location, time, and driver supply.
3. Booking and Payment
When you make a booking, you will receive details of the driver, including name, vehicle, and estimated fare.
Fares are calculated based on various factors: distance, time, traffic, tolls, waiting time, etc.
We may charge a booking fee, cancellation fee, or additional surcharges — which will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel a booking within a specified grace period. After that, a cancellation fee may apply.
If a driver cancels or cannot complete the ride, you may be eligible for a refund or partial refund (as per our cancellation policy).
Refunds will be processed according to our refund guidelines, and the time taken will depend on the payment method.
5. Conduct and Safety
You must behave respectfully and safely. Abusive, violent, or illegal behavior may lead to cancellation or account suspension.
Drivers have the right to refuse service if they believe the passenger is intoxicated, abusive, or poses a risk.
You are responsible for ensuring your pickup and drop-off points are safe and legal locations for pickup and drop.
6. Liability and Disclaimers
DropTaxi provides the platform “as is”, without warranties of availability, accuracy, or performance.
We are not liable for any accidents, loss, or damage caused during the ride — that is a matter between you and the driver.
We are also not responsible for route decisions made by drivers, or any delays due to traffic or other external factors.
7. Payments and Taxes
All payments are processed securely via our chosen payment providers.
You are responsible for any applicable taxes, tolls, or parking fees, unless otherwise stated.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Website (text, images, logos) belongs to DropTaxi or its licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Website for booking rides.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
We collect personal data (such as name, phone, email, location) to enable the Service.
We may share data with drivers and third-party service providers as necessary to fulfill bookings.
Your data use is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which you should read carefully.
10. Termination / Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms.
You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting us (if you have a registered account).
11. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for failures or delays due to causes beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, strikes, telecommunications failures).
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms will be governed by the laws of TamilNadu.
Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or our Service will be resolved in the courts.
